PILT's Food Rescue pilot program was launched on 10/4/21 with support from and in collaboration with Helix Charter High School

Mr. Calvin Herbin Food Services Supervisor


Mr. Herbin is Helix's compassionate Supervisor of Food Services who has worked in the food services industry for 27 years. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran who holds a BSBM, MBA, and "an eighth of a Ph.D." in Organizational Leadership. Mr. Herbin is the President of Chefs de Cuisine Association of San Diego, and has worked with the San Diego Food Bank to provide food for the less fortunate members of our communities.

Helix's Food Rescue pilot program was started by Mr. Herbin and Ms. Jendian. The program has served as a template for other schools in San Diego County.
