October : PILT Promotes Member to the Executive Committee

Updated: 6 days ago

The spookiest month of the year became one of the funnest as we hosted lots of fall and Halloween sales. October was a successful month for all PILTers as we continued planning the finer details of our projects and carried them out. Our team at Albert Einstein Academy Charter Middle School and San Diego High School showed exceptional dedication as they juggled fundraiser after fundraiser, AEACMS showing the strength of their team and SDHS adding new club members to theirs.

We have a special announcement for this blog: Arturo is officially part of ExCo! Thank you to Arturo for completing all necessary projects and showing the commitment and care you have for our organization, team members, and the awareness you have of our cause and mission. You will make a big, positive impact in the community!

Social Media (IG, FB, X)

Our social media was very active this week. On 10/18 we had a post for the pizza sale at SDHS to be used to supply computers for PATH clients. On 10/28 we posted about AEACMS’s pizza sale to support Sharia's Closet. And on 10/30 post about the Wellness Fair at SDHS where we promoted our Community Outreach Club and PILT)

AEACES

Josephine is going to host a coat drive from November 11–15, which she is in the process of planning.

Josephine and Minori are going to be presenting about the importance of community to 1st graders at AEACES. The presentation date is still undetermined, but assumed to be around the end of November. They plan on having a care kit activity as well to further inform the students on how to help their communities while keeping them engaged.

AEACMS

Arturo, Emeli, and Eden, our strong team at AEA Middle had another sale, this time supporting Sharia’s Closet. Together they sold pizza, making a profit of $114.95 and then purchased clothing for adults and babies and donated them to Sharia’s Closet.

They will be presenting to classes at their school in the coming weeks about how to support our community.

EVMCHS

Anya informed Interact Club about PILT and helped them with their successful fundraiser supporting PATH on Saturday, 10/26.

Anya is in the process of getting permission to do her project to provide items for YMCA TAY at her school.

OLP

Genesis is planning a lunch/dinner service with her peers at PATH this winter.

SDHS

Community Outreach Club just had its first fundraiser. They sold pizza on 10/16 during lunch. The fundraiser’s profits were to go to providing computers and other electronic appliances for clients of PATH, which Mr. Baur saw as an opportunity. Unfortunately, they were outbid, but the $40 that they made will still go to PATH in the next project that they do for them. They also had a pizza sale on Halloween, where they sold pizza with festive Halloween decor in the quad. They profited $73.75. They plan on having pizza sales regularly.

On 10/29 the Wellness Fair was hosted at SDHS and the team had a booth where they raised awareness about their club. Lots of students signed up for the club and showed up for the next meeting, which provided information about the club. More information is coming soon!

Thank you for reading our blog. November’s blog will be coming out soon!

Go PILT!
